Turton Rotarians hand out Laptops

Rotarians Dennis and Mark, from Turton Rotary Club, today handed out 21 laptops to very excited children from Bolton St Catherine’s Academy as part of the Rotary Laptops4Schools project.

The laptops, donated by members of the public, have been refurbished, upgraded and made usable again with funds raised from participating Rotary clubs.

Each laptop costs approximately £20 to refurbish and makes a world of difference to children who don’t have a laptop computer at home already.

Primary Headteacher, Mr Gareth Watson commented, “Although we are back at school and not home learning any more, the lockdown has highlighted now more than ever the importance for all children to have access to learning online. Having a laptop for these students is invaluable as they now have a tool to continue research and learning at home. We are very grateful to Rotary for providing these devices for our children.”

Anyone wanting to sponsor a laptop for a child can do so by visiting the website and donating online https://www.laptops4schools.org.uk/donate
